EGAN Medical Now Offers Full Site Translations

EGAN Medical Equipment & Supply has announced today the debut of the companies brand-new language translation widget, a small box affixed atop the EGAN Medical Supply (online) store's product categories which enables customers and other website visitors the ability to translate the original English language content into any one of 43 other languages spoken around the world, 44 including English.

EGAN Medical CEO Peter Egan said in a news release that his company's international customer base continues to grow at a surprising clip, with sales coming in from literally all corners of the globe (at least the part that's inhabited). From Canada to China to Russia, France, Ireland, Denmark, Germany, Japan, India, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, just to name a few, there is no place on earth where EGAN doesn't have at least one customer - at least in terms of inhabited continents. 

As for individual countries, EGAN's CEO estimates his company had shipped products to no less than 40 different countries, and possibly as many as 50-55.

The move is designed to improve upon conversion rates among visitors to the EganMedical.com website who hail from outside the U.S. and Canada, EGAN's two strongholds in North America.

EGAN Medical has apologized to customers who had attempted to make purchases between the afternoon of April 10 through the afternoon of April 15.

As a result of across-the-board upgrades involving the EGAN Medical order processing, shopping cart and merchant services software, some customers who had attempted to make purchases during this time-period were unable to complete checkout.

EGAN has announced that the system is once again fully-operational, and that customers who had attempted to complete purchases while the order processing system was temporarily down may do so at any point the remainder of the week. Anyone whose order was delayed by two days or more will receive a free shipping upgrade, and all customers who were inconvenienced by the temporary downtime will be receiving a free gift in addition to their order.

Every year on December 27 and 28, I spend considerable time replying to messages and thanking people. The reason is that my birthday is on the 26th. Literally several hundred people will leave birthday wishes on my timeline before the day is over.

This year, the first such wish came in around the 23rd of December. It was from Mr. Darrell Seeeing, co-owner of It's You Babe, LLC.

To all my friends unfamiliar with Mr. Seering, he and wife Christine are the owners of Its You Babe, LLC, maker of the world's finest Maternity Belts and Vulvar Varicosities Supports. the products were designed and patented by Mrs. Seering, the first of which inspired by a desire to help Darrell's sister be relieved of intense pain associated with her pregnancy.

EGAN Medical Equipment & Supply employees have been working extra-hard since our recent opening of our Long Beach, Mississippi distribution center to compliment our Covington, Louisiana office.

As a gesture of gratitude for all they've done for EGAN Medical, management has declared an early start to the July 4 holiday, offering all EGAN employees the choice of taking off Wednesday July 3 in addition to Thursday July 4. July 3 will count as a paid work day for any/all employees who decide to get an early start to their Independence Day celebrations.

As a result of this, email and phone support may be unavailable from the close of business Tuesday July 2 until the opening of business Friday July 5. If you are unable to get a response during this time period, don't panic. Egan Medical is celebrating its first-ever sale to a customer outside of North America and Europe today. The sale involved the purchase of a Best Cradle (adjustable Prenatal Cradle) maternity support to a customer in of all places Pakistan.

While not listed on the list of ship-to countries, EGAN Medical has long held a quiet policy of shipping anywhere in the world if an individual customer from any given country were to send an email requesting a shipping quote to that individual's respective locale.

Well, a gentleman from Pakistan did just that, and EGAN Medical replied with a shipping quote which surprised both parties in terms of the price. No, it wasn't shockingly high, but rather the opposite. The shipment cost just over $12 U.S. dollars, a figure which both parties found to be quite reasonable all things considered.

About a week after the gentleman requested the shipping quote, an order came through with a shipping destination in Pakistan.

The sale is notable within the annals of EGAN Medical firsts in that it was not just the company's first-ever sale to a Pakistani customer, it was EGAN's first-ever sale to a customer located anywhere but the United States, Canada, Ireland, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Greece or Portugal. As for the product purchased, one could not be faulted for wondering what type of product is so rare and important that buying it from someone halfway around the world is worthwhile and justified. Well, apparently the Best Cradle (Adjustable Prenatal Cradle), which is manufactured by a Michigan-based company called It's You Babe, LLC, is that important. The Best Cradle provides support to virtually every spot on a woman's body that experiences pain as a direct result of being pregnant. It is more comprehensive than a traditional maternity belt in the design, and as a result can help relieve pain all over the body as opposed to merely the abdominal region and back.

The Best Cradle was apparently important enough to one gentleman that he went well out of his way to find out if a company was willing to ship to his country-of-origin, request a shipping quote, then purchase it from halfway across the globe so that his daughter would be as comfortable as possible during her pregnancy.

As much as we'd like to be in the Big Easy enjoying the parades, marching bands and adult beverages, EGAN Medical will be open-for-business Mardi Gras day (Fat Tuesday, February 12, 2013). Our customer service representatives will be available during normal business hours for all of Mardi Gras day and most of Ash Wednesday. We will be permitting staff to take off for one hour tomorrow (Wednesday, February 13, 2013) to observe Ash Wednesday traditions for those staff who wish to do so.

Customer Review: Prenatal Cradle by It's You Babe

My pregnancy was extremely difficult. There were a few complications, and I definitely think it was the most challenging period I've ever had to endure in life. The Prenatal Cradle by It's You Babe made my life SO MUCH easier I can't even begin to describe it.

My mom had bought my two other maternity supports before I ordered a prenatal cradle from Egan Medical. Neither of them helped, and one even caused me pain in one of the few places I wasn't already hurting.


The prenatal cradle felt like it was custom-designed to fit my body. It provided support everywhere that I needed it, and really surprised me with how much it helped relieve pain and stress on my back. Every singly part of my body hurt less after a day wearing a PC than it did before I started wearing it. As I got further and further along in my pregnancy, the amount of relief this seemingly simple undergarment brought me just seemed to increase proportionately to the size of my breasts and belly.

I highly recommend this product for any woman who is pregnant and in pain, or even women who aren't in tremendous pain but would like to engage in more physical activity than they can without the help of a maternity support such as the prenatal cradle.

As for where to buy, I was obviously very pleased with my experience with Egan Medical Supply, or else I probably wouldn't be writing this review.

I'm a bargain hunter, and I also like to deal with companies I can trust will ship on time and provide service after the sale. Egan had my order in my mailbox within three days, and they even let me exchange my original order for a larger size and covered the cost of the replacement shipment. I didn't expect them to do that, but the people I spoke with were very friendly and obviously hooked it up.

On top of the speedy shipment and A+ service, their price was about $12 less than the next best price I could find. Not sure how this company makes money, but from a customer's standpoint - especially that of an expecting, newlywed mom-to-be who is not particularly wealthy and who has to make every dollar count - Egan Medical was a Godsend. The next time I need anything they sell, chances are I'm going to get it from them. Though the prenatal cradle and vitamins are all I've purchased from them, my experience was so uncommonly positive that I do consider myself a loyal customer and hope to remain one for a long time to come.

They gave me a coupon for free shipping on some prenatal vitamins. The vitamins were kind of expensive, but they were the same price everywhere else I looked, and from what I gather are very high quality and far superior to grocery store or drug store vitamins, which don't absorb well at all.

Long Beach (MS) New Home to EGAN Medical E-Commerce Fulfillment Center

EGAN Medical, a leading supplier of medical supplies, equipment, orthopedic, maternity care and other health care products has announced the grand opening of the company's newest addition, a shipping and e-commerce order fulfillment center located in downtown Long Beach, Mississippi. Unlike the company's long-established brick-and-mortar storefront in Covington, LA, the new facility will not be open to walk-in traffic. Rather, its purpose will be to serve as staging-grounds for the processing and shipping of orders, as well as a customer service center for internet-based shoppers. The medical equipment and supply firm's Covington storefront will remain open to walk-ins, while the Mississippi location will specialize in assisting online customers, promptly shipping online orders and managing the company's e-commerce inventory.

Long Beach was chosen as the location for the firm's second location due to its scenic beauty, warm, sunny weather and its proximity to the beach itself. EGAN Medical executive director Peter Egan has an outspoken fondness of the beach, sun and fishing, and Long Beach offered enough of all three to lure him away from Louisiana to the Mississippi coast for his personal residence. Rather than continue to commute three hours each day round-trip, Egan decided to place a stronger emphasis on e-commerce, opening the order fulfillment center just a four-minute drive from his home. This constitutes a dramatic transition in the firm's core business model, representing a brazen attempt to convert from being a strategically located brick-and-mortar medical equipment company located next to St. Tammany Parish Hospital to being a competitor on the national stage and on the internet.

Customers who choose to take advantage of this offer are asked to refrain from actually driving to the store to pick up their purchases. I ordered two wrist braces from Eagan Medical, and I will definitely be doing business with them again.

While the braces I ordered didn't fit properly - an issue that appears to be the fault of the manufacturer as they use the manufacturer's measurement chart - the customer service was outstanding. They exchanged both braces for two new ones one size bigger at no cost to me. They paid for the return shipment (emailed me the label so I just had to print tape it to the same box they arrived in), and they also paid to ship me the replacements.

I received a response to the email I sent inquiring about the possibility of an exchange exactly one hour and eight minutes after I had sent it, and that same day I received another email with a tracking number for the shipment of the two replacements. They shipped the replacements the same day I emailed to ask if I could exchange the ones I ordered initially. I received the package the very next day.

Even though the prices were only about average, I will definitely do business with them the next time I need medical products. They shipped me the replacements with no guarantee that I would even return the first ones they sent me. I theoretically could have kept all four of them even though I only paid for two. I asked about this and was told that their priority was to make sure I had the medical supplies I needed as soon as possible, and that they trusted that I would in fact return the original order.

I've never heard of a company doing that. Normally, the way exchanges work is that the company ships when they receive the merchandise that is being exchanged, usually inspecting it before shipping out the replacements. While it might not be the best business practice, the fact that they placed my needs ahead of their own made a lasting impression, and I don't mind paying $1.50-$2.00 more when the service is as good as this.

Aside from the outstanding customer service and speedy delivery, the box contained a bunch of stuff I didn't order but found useful nonetheless. This included a handful of Biofreeze (a topical pain reliever) samples, a nail file with their company logo, a sample bottle of Ecotrin heart aspirin and a company ink pen. Sure, I didn't really need any of it, but it's the little things that really mean the most in life, and this company really made a positive impression on me.

There's nothing I hate more than sitting on hold, being transferred from person to person, none of whom are able, much less willing to help; the goal apparently being to encourage the customer to give up by wasting an hour (or more) of their time before letting them speak to anyone with the authority to fix a problem. Eagan Medical's customer service was the exact opposite of what I've come to expect from my cable company and from big internet companies. So, the bottom line is that the next time we truthfully and accurately claim to be vastly superior to the meager nuisances who call themselves competitors, don't just take our word for it.
